Todd Smith

Todd was elected to represent Prince Edward - Hastings riding at the Ontario Legislative Assembly in the General Election on October 6th, 2011.  He has served as the Critic for Small Business and Red Tape with the Official Opposition and was pleased to be named a member of the PC Caucus Job Creation Task Force and a very active member of the PC Outreach Team.  Todd has also served as a member of the Standing Committee on General Government.  As of September 30th, 2013, Todd is the Critic for Citizenship and Immigration, as well as the Chair of Outreach.

Todd is committed to continue providing effective representation for the residents of Prince Edward - Hastings, helping local citizens get the assistance that they need from their provincial government and returning fiscal accountability to Queen's Park.

He moved to Belleville, Ontario from Riverview, New Brunswick in the early 1990's and has called the Quinte area his home ever since.  He now lives in the Oak Hills with his wife Tawnya, a local high school teacher, and his two daughters Payton and Reagan.

Todd continues to be a strong supporter of the community and charitable events.  He has coached for many years in the Belleville Bearcats Minor Hockey Association and has served with the Quinte chapter of the ALS society, Operation Red Nose Quinte and dozens of other organizations.  Todd has also served on the Loyalist College Advisory Board since graduating there in 1994.  He also has the distinction of being the first ever winner of the Dancing with the Stars Quinte contest (thanks to his partner Andrea Doucette).

Prior to his election victory, Todd was an institution in the morning radio at Quinte Broadcasting stations for more than 16 years, where he held the News Director position for CJBQ, Mix 97 and Rock 107.  Todd has also served as the Belleville Bulls play-by-play announcer on the OHL Tonight on TV Cogeco.
